MID CENTURY LOUNGE CHAIR BY GREAVES AND THOMAS OF LONDON
This is an absolutely fabulous example of the quality of craftsmanship produced by 'Greaves and Thomas'. Founded in the early 1900s and based in Clapton in North London they manufactured for the higher end furniture market. This is the iconic spindle back lounge chair designed by Walter Cornell in 1959 and one of his first designs that the company used steam bent Teak to create the back curves. This is a classic piece from the company with a real Scandinavian feel and and is in excellent condition for its vintage. The chair has been re-webbed and reupholstered in a leafy green mixed blend linen.
